Who DOES NOT qualify to apply for an e-Visa?
If you are a passport holder from one of the following countries, you will be required to submit a visa application through a Kenyan embassy or consulate, as these nationalities are not eligible for the standard online visa process.
1. Nationals of the following countries require a referred visa
Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cameroon, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), Eritrea, Iraq, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Palestine, Senegal, Somalia, Syria, Tajikistan, and Yemen.
Applicants from these countries must obtain a referred visa, which requires additional approval from the Director of Immigration Services in Kenya before the visa can be issued.
2. Applicants with local objections
Individuals against whom there are local objections or concerns in the country where the application is submitted may also be required to apply for a visa through a Kenyan diplomatic mission.
3. Stateless persons or holders of refugee travel documents
Stateless persons or individuals who do not hold a valid passport issued by their country of nationality must apply for a visa through the Department of Immigration Services. This also includes recognized refugees holding United Nations Refugee Travel Documents.
4. Prohibited immigrants
Applicants who fall under the category of prohibited immigrants, as defined in Section 33 (1) and (2) of the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Act, 2011, are not eligible for entry into Kenya.
