How many seasons are there in Kenya?
Since Kenya is located on the equator, there are no real summers and winters. Instead, the year is divided into a rainy season and a dry season. There are two dry seasons: a short dry season in late January and early February, and a longer dry season that lasts from late June to October. There are brief periods of rainfall in November and December, but by far the wettest season is from March to May.
Temperatures are relatively consistent in every region of Kenya, but vary from place depending on altitude. For example, the coast is much hotter than the highlands of central Kenya, while Mount Kenya is so high that it is permanently covered in snow. Humidity also increases at lower altitudes, while the arid north is hot and dry.
The best time to visit Kenya is during the country’s dry season, from June to October, especially if you want to go on a safari.
