Do Hong Kong citizens Need A Visa For Kenya?
No. Hong Kong citizens don’t need a visa to enter Kenya. Toward the close of the year 2023, Kenya's President, Mr. William Ruto, said that beginning in 2024, tourists from any area of the world will not require a visa to enter Kenya. This basically eliminates visa fees and the complexity of applying for a visa in advance.
In place of a Visa, a digital platform known as Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) will be utilized, with travelers required to register so that they may be recognized ahead of time.
To enter Kenya, Hong Kong citizens must have a Kenya ETA. Once granted, the ETA is electronically connected to the traveler's Hong Kong passport, and email confirmation is sent.
The Kenya eTA functions as an endorsement, allowing tourists to enter and stay in Kenya for up to 90 days. The eTA application procedure is easier, quicker, and more cost-effective than the traditional visa application method. The Kenya ETA is used for tourism, transit, or business purposes.
The Kenyan ETA covers the majority of Hong Kong's normal travel requirements for short-term stays. However, suppose Hong Kong people need to stay in Kenya for an extended period of time or wish to migrate to the country for career or academic prospects, please contact your nearest embassy for more details.
