The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is a regional organization with 15 member countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, and The Gambia.

One of ECOWAS' signature projects is the creation of the ECOWAS passport, which is intended to allow hassle-free travel throughout the region.

• ECOWAS Passport: This primarily facilitates travel within the member States of the Economic Community of West African States by providing visa-free entry and easy mobility for citizens of the region.
• International Passport: This allows for global travel, allowing holders to travel outside of the ECOWAS area and explore locations throughout the world, while visa requirements may apply in some countries.

2. Validity and Renewal:

• The Passport has a validity period ranging from two to ten years, with renewal processes varying among member states.

All ECOWAS members do not require two passports to travel within or outside of the ECOWAS Nations; your ECOWAS Passport also functions as your International Passport.
